Les Dames d'Escoffier is an international group of professional women in the culinary and related fields. We volunteer our time to promote women in these fields and raise scholarship funds for women wishing to enter these professions or enhance their skills.

As of 2001, the British Columbia Chapter is ten years old. We grow by leaps and bounds as women in diverse and complimentary professions are invited to join each year. I was invited to join in 1996, sat on the board as Scholarship Director, and then became President for the 2000-2001 term of office. Our fundraising takes the form of cooking classes, exclusive dinners at generous restaurants who give us their time and expertise, auctions, golf tournaments and for next year, a Women in Wine celebration in conjunction with the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival.
